Beschrijving
Aangeboden wordt een metalen plaat, welke als verpakkings onderdeel uitmaakte van de US WW2 155 MM Howitser M1 munitie. De plaat heeft de volgende afmetingen : 50 x 63 cm. Het aangebodene vertoont roestvorming maar heeft wel zijn originele verf zoveel mogelijk behouden ( op de voorzijde ) Deze is gevonden in het dorp Vossenack.
Vossenack is een plaats in de Duitse gemeente Hürtgenwald, deelstaat Noordrijn-Westfalen, en telt 2.233 inwoners. Vossenack ligt in het Natuurpark Hoge Venen-Eifel, in het Hürtgenwald, dat deel uitmaakt van de Eifel.
Deze plaat is als dakbeschot gebruikt tijdens of net na de hevige gevechten om het Hürtgenwald, de plaat is resent aangetroffen bij het renoveren van een oude woning in het dorp en heeft dus al die tientallen jaren gewoon nog ‘dienst’ gedaan als dakbeschot!
De plaat is gedateerd, nov. 6 – 1944 ingeslagen in het metaal en nov. 1944 met gele verf op de plaat, zie foto’ s.

Offered is a metal plate, which was part of the packaging of the US WW2 155 MM Howitser M1 ammunition. The plate has the following dimensions: 50 x 63 cm. The offered shows rust, but has retained its original paint as much as possible (on the front). This was found in the village of Vossenack.
Vossenack is a place in the German municipality of Hürtgenwald, state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and has 2,233 inhabitants. Vossenack is located in the Hoge Venen-Eifel Nature Park, in the Hürtgenwald, which is part of the Eifel.
This board was used as roof boarding during or just after the fierce fighting for the Hürtgenwald, the board was recently found during the renovation of an old house in the village and has therefore simply ‘served’ as roof boarding all those decades!
The plate is dated Nov. 6 – 1944 smashed into the metal and Nov. 1944 with yellow paint on the plate, see photos. (we from frisianmilitariasellers have 2 pieces of this, see also the other advertisement)
