Beschrijving
Offered is an engine, type DB605 – Daimler – Benz, from an ME-110.
The offered engine comes from the Messerschmitt BF-110 of Jagdgeschwader 26 based in Wunsdorf (Germany).
This aircraft crashed from a great height on 22-12-’43 in a meadow near the Frisian Britswerd, after a collision with a comrade in arms. The Austrian pilot Th. Kovarbasic survived this crash with his parachute, but his radio operator Dvorack had already been thrown from the aircraft at a great height and was unable to save himself with his parachute, he was found lifeless in a meadow near the crash site. According to eyewitnesses, his body had left a deep imprint in the ground……
On most engine blocks the exhausts have been completely knocked off due to the crash, with this one a few have been preserved! see pictures. The type (605) and the factory numbers are on the block, see photos.
For the enormous blow with which this aircraft crashed, it is still a miracle that this engine block, which was found at a depth of about 8 meters, is still in a good and intact condition.
The last 2 photos are purely for illustration.
A serious offer requested for this engine with its well-known history. The block must be picked up on your own in Friesland!
The engine, type DB605 – Daimler – Benz, from an ME-110 is SOLD !!!
