During World War 2, the flag of an RAF Air Chief Marshal featured two broad red bands running through the center of the flag. The rank insignia of an Air Chief Marshal in the RAF consisted of three narrow light blue bands (each on a slightly wider black band) over a light blue band on a broad black band, worn on the sleeves or shoulders of uniform items.
